Changes in calculated (▲) and measured (■) serum osmolality (mOsm/kg) are shown with the accompanying serum ethanol levels (mg/dl) (○). Symptoms were estimated to have begun within 1 hour of ingestion and hemodialysis was started after the peak osmolality was measured.
