(A) Age- and sex-matched 6- to 8-week-old Phd3Β/Β;Cre+/– and Phd3Β/Β;Cre–/– mice were injected intraperitoneally with tamoxifen (1 mg/20 g body weight/d) for 5 consecutive days. A week later, mice were treated with 9 Gy X-ray. The survival of mice was monitored. Parenthetical numbers indicate the number of mice analyzed. P < 0.001. (B and C) Thymuses were harvested from mice 8 hours after exposure to IR (9 Gy), and (B) Western blots were performed with the indicated antibodies.
