Closed dwell-time histograms of single-channel bursts at various activating [Ca2+]cyt. Here, the interburst intervals were removed from the idealized traces, and the bursts were spliced together before creating the histograms. These were then fitted with sums of exponential curves. The overall exponential fit of each histogram is represented by the solid black curve, whereas the individual components are shown by gray lines. Only two exponential components were required for fitting all closed time histograms, whereas the fits for the open time histograms remained unchanged (not depicted). The activating Ca2+ concentrations are shown on the top left corner of each histogram.
