(1) Patients in the 1^st group with D-dimer levels ranging from minimum to 1^st quartile [0.03 to 0.34 μg/mL] of levels in the total study population are compared to (2) those with D-dimer levels in the 2^nd group with levels between the 1^st and 2^nd quartiles [0.34 to 0.71 μg/mL], (3) those in the 3^rd group with levels between the 2^nd and 3^rd quartiles [0.71 to 1.33 μg/mL] and (4) the 4^th group with D-dimer levels ranging from the 3^rd quartile to maximum [1.33 to 45.1 μg/mL] of D-dimer levels in the study population. Total numbers of patients with D-dimer levels in the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th groups at study inclusion were 304, 327, 253 and 294, respectively.
