VSMCs were exposed to increasing concentrations (10, 25, and 50 μg/mL) of agLDL for 15 days. Cells were then collected and lipid extraction was performed as explained in Materials and Methods. Thin-layer chromatography shows intracellular CE and FC bands. Results are expressed as micrograms of cholesterol per milligram of protein, and are shown as the mean ± SE of three experiments performed in duplicate. ^∗p < 0.05, versus control VSMC.
