Effect of gE and gE cytoplasmic tail deletions on patch formation and progeny virion trafficking. (A) TIRF images of Vero cells infected with the ΔgE mutant, the gEΔCT mutant, or the gEΔCT rescue virus at an MOI of 0.3 for 12 h. Note that patches are smaller in size in the gE deletion mutant-infected cells, but the virion number in those patches is increased at 12 hpi.
