Time course of transcriptional repression by P_CTR4. Strain PCTR4lacZ 1 was grown in RPMI 1640 broth (inducing conditions) for 5 days, and then 50 μM CuSO₄ was added. Samples were collected at 0.5, 1, 2, 12, and 24 h after addition of copper. Real-time RT-PCR was performed as described in Materials and Methods. The expression levels of lacZ at each time point are indicated as relative fold changes compared to the level at time zero (addition of CuSO₄). Error bars indicate standard deviations for triplicate measurements from a representative experiment.
