Hippocampal neurons in culture exhibit GluN2A and GluN2B immunoreactivity. Forty-eight hours after transfection with the PSD95-GFP expression vector, hippocampal cultures were fixed and labelled with GluN2A and GluN2B-selective antibodies (red) as described in Methods. PSD95-GFP puncta (green) co-localized with GluN2A and GluN2B immunoreactive puncta (merged, yellow). Note that non-transfected cells were also present in the field and thus not all immunoreactive puncta (red) co-localize with a PSD95-GFP puncta. Scale bars represent 10 µm.
