Figure shows a schematic overview of the anaesthetized guinea pig model as a versatile early cardiovascular safety screening tool. At present, both preclinical (ICH S7B) and clinical (ICH E14) studies use the QTc interval as a surrogate marker for TdP risk in humans. The E-M window provides a new risk marker for TdP risk in humans that might eventually be implemented in clinical research.
