Demonstration of the set up for placement of an ultrasound guided interscalene catheter utilizing a posterior approach. The patient is placed in a lateral decubitus position and the transducer is stabilized utilizing a mechanical stabilizing device. The Tuohy needle enters the skin approximately 2 cm from the transducer and advanced with an in-plane approach.
