Spleens and livers were isolated from SCID mice that were intragastrically inoculated with SL201 carrying different constructs and either mock-infected (lanes 1–5, 6, and 10) or infected with MCMV (lanes 7–9 and 11–13) and harvested at 14 d post infection. Northern and Western analyses were carried out using RNA (A and B) or protein samples (C) isolated from different organs of mice that were treated with SL201 carrying pU6 (-, lanes 1, 6–7, and 10–11), pU6-mPR1 (lanes 2, 4, 8, and 12), or pU6-mPR2 (lanes 3, 5, 9, and 13). The levels of the mouse RNase P RNA and actin protein were used as the internal controls.
