DSS compounds reduce the level of HBV DP-rcDNA, but not viral RNA and core DNA, in HepDES19 cells with short-term treatment. Upon the removal of tetracycline, HepDES19 cells were left untreated or treated with CCC-0975 or CCC-0346 at the indicated concentration; tetracycline-free medium was changed every other day with fresh compound supplementation. The DMSO concentration in the whole experiment was normalized at 0.1%. The cells were harvested at day 4, and viral RNA (top), core DNA (middle), and Hirt DNA (DP-rcDNA and cccDNA) (bottom) were extracted and analyzed by Northern blotting and Southern blotting, respectively.
