Substitutions are indicated by the observed nucleotides and indels by the number of inserted or deleted base pairs using the Syria1 sequence as reference. Nucleotides in bold characters refer to Tsp509I restriction sites. The three last columns respectively refer to lengths in base pairs of the largest Tsp509I digested fragment, and of introns I and II. Twelve different haplotypes were recognized among 38 sequences. The distribution of these twelve haplotypes among countries was reported in figure 4.
