LPS treatment of animals (n = 4) resulted in significantly reduced cAMP levels of 1.8 ± 0.9 pmol mg⁻¹ compared to controls (n = 4; 5.3 ± 1.0 pmol mg⁻¹) whereas treatment with PDI-4-I did not change cAMP levels significantly (n = 4; 3.8 ± 0.9 pmol mg⁻¹). *P < 0.05 compared to controls.
