Cells were grown without (m) or with the addition of various phenolic compounds ranging from 10 nM to 1 mM for 1 h in the case of cells with pRLuc42R. The activities were shown as the ratio of induced to non-induced activities. The four sets of data (pRLuc42R, pRLuc, pRLuc140p143R and pRLuc113p116R) are the average of three independent experiments.
