Table 2. Effect of collagenase on the relative amounts of intracellular and extracellular *collagens.

The relative amounts of labelled *collagens in the first extracellular salt extract (S1) and in the intracellular detergent extract (N) were quantified by densitometry and expressed as a percentage of 14C *collagen in the extracellular extract. Collagenase treatment significantly decreased the percentage of *collagens in the extracellular extract.
