RanBP2 hypomorphic iPSCs originate from MEFs with normal chromosome numbers and exhibit a high degree of chromosome number stability. BubR1 hypomorphism results in selective reprogramming of aneuploid cells and yields chromosomally unstable iPSCs. iPSC cultures established from wildtype MEFs typically contain relatively small subpopulations of cells with abnormal chromosome numbers.
