The strains (107 conidia/mL) were cultured on plates containing agar VM medium and VM medium supplemented with yeast extract (VM + YE) at pH 4.2, 5.8 and 7.8, in ambient light/dark for 24 h. Hyphae at the colony edge were observed using a stereoscope.
