Localization of CdhA-GFP in mitosis. (A–I) Images are projections of z stacks collected at 1-min intervals at 25°C. At 0 min (metaphase), CdhA-GFP is barely detectable (A–C). At anaphase (D–F), it is visible at three out of four SPBs (arrows) and between separating chromatin masses (arrowheads in D and F). This spindlelike localization was seen in less than a quarter of the nuclei observed, perhaps because the localization is very brief. At the 2-min time point (telophase; G–I), CdhA-GFP is present at the SPBs of each daughter nucleus.
