Table IV. Result summary of the cTP length prediction using TargetP versus experimental characterized sites.
The experimentally characterized proteins are split in two categories related to the number of cTP cleavage sites found per protein. For each subgroup, we compare the average experimental length and the average TargetP prediction. These two experimental subgroups are not significantly different (Student's t test, p < 0.1).
Number of proteins | Number of cleavage sites | Min cTP length | Max cTP length | Average experimental cTP length | TargetP predicted cTP length | Prediction discrepency (exp − Theo length) | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Single cleavage site | 164 | 164 | 20 | 159 | 57 ± 21 | 53 ± 16 | 4 ± 21 |
Multiple cleavage sites | 37 | 85 | 24 | 123 | 62 ± 20 | 58 ± 14 | 4 ± 17 |
