JNKBP1 disturbs NOD2-induced Listeria killing. A, gentamicin protection assay. GNV cells were transfected with empty vector or plasmid, allowing the expression of JNKBP1-V5. After 48 h, the cells were infected with L. monocytogenes (MOI 80). 1 h after infection, fresh medium with gentamicin was added for 90 min to kill extracellular bacteria. Then the cells were lysed, and samples were plated onto BHI agar plates to determine the number of cfu. Results are expressed as intracellular bacteria number relative to those obtained with cells transfected with empty vector taken as 100%.
