Transport activity in the presence of the system c inhibitor ϵ-trimethyl-l-lysine. Xenopus oocytes were injected with cRNAs encoding the indicated transporters. The uptake of 30 μm l-[³H]arginine in the absence or presence of 3 mm ϵ-trimethyl-l-lysine was determined. Values obtained in the absence of the putative inhibitor were set as 100% (data not shown). Bars represent means ± S.E. (n = 10–20), with at least two different batches of oocytes.
