Phosphomannose isomerase (PMI) and phosphomannomutase (PMM2) are important regulators of glycosylation. Inhibitors were designed to inhibit PMI but not PMM2, facilitating the accumulation of mannose-6-phosphate to drive glycosylation (HK = hexokinase).
