Calmodulin binding to Gem is independent of phosphorylation at serine 261 or 289. Lysates from Cos-7 cells transfected with wild-type or mutant Gem were incubated with calmodulin-Sepharose beads. Calmodulin-bound Gem and total Gem expressed were identified by Western blot analysis using anti-Gem polyclonal antibody.
