Rat hippocampal slice cultures were exposed to OGD in the presence or absence of LCAR (5 mM, 2 h prior to OGD). Slices were then incubated with calcein AM (30 µM, 30 min) to estimate changes in metabolic viability. Calcein AM staining was carried out at 2-, 6-, 12-, 24- and 48-h after OGD.
