To examine the effects of FTC on ABCG2-mediated resistance to mitoxantrone in HNSCC cell lines, cells were pre-incubated with or without FTC for 48 h, and then incubated with various concentrations of mitoxantrone. Cell survival was determined by the MTT assay as described in Materials and methods. Data are the means ± SD of at least three independent experiments performed in triplicate. The fold-reversal of MXR was calculated by dividing the IC50 for cells treated with the anticancer drug in the absence of FTC by that obtained in the presence of FTC.
