Ca²⁺-dependent aequorin luminescence from BY4742 and yvc1Δ cells in stationary growth phase in response to 0.6 mg/ml eugenol. Eugenol was added at 40 seconds and was suspended in either SCM-leu (A) or EGTA buffer (B). Traces represent mean (± SEM) from at least 4 independent experiments. SEM values are illustrated using grey shading. Luminescence was recorded every 0.2 seconds and is expressed in arbitrary units (AU).
