A model for the role of phosphatidic acid at Bazooka polarity landmarks. Individual Baz proteins bind PA through positive patches on each their three PDZ domains (labeled 1–3). These interactions can affect Baz recruitment to the plasma membrane and promote the downstream effects of Baz important for epithelial tissue structure. The oligomerization of Baz at Baz polarity landmarks leads to local stabilization and enrichment of PA to form a specialized plasma membrane domain.
