Fig. 1

Monocyte and plasmacytoid dendritic cell (pDC) data. (a) Differential cell counts of monocytes, neutrophils and lymphocytes from whole blood from healthy blood donors (HBD), anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV) and transplant (TP) patients. (b) Monocyte subsets were measured using flow cytometry and divided into three subsets: classical (CD14highCD16low), anti-inflammatory (CD14highCD16high) and proinflammatory (CD14lowCD16high). (c) pDCs were measured using flow cytometry as CD303 and CD123 positive cells. Where statistical differences were found these are depicted in the figures as *P < 0·05; **0·01 > P < 0·05; and ***P < 0·001. Statistics were calculated using the Kruskal–Wallis test with Dunn's multiple comparison test in all cases. Error bar represents standard error of the mean.
