The Semont maneuver for treatment of posterior canal BPPV [COMP, USE FULL PAGE WIDTH OR NEARLY FULL PAGE WIDTH FOR FIGURE 4]

The patient begins by sitting upright (1). For a right posterior canal BPPV the patient's head is turned 45 degrees toward the left side, and then the patient is rapidly moved to the side-lying position as depicted in position (2). After holding for 30 sec in position (2) the patient is then moved quickly to the opposite side-lying position (3) without head turning or pausing in the middle.
