The three proportions in each row sum to 100%. Percentages are weighted to adjust for differences in selection probabilities, differential nonresponse, oversampling of cases, and residual differences on sociodemographic variables between the sample and the population.

b

Unweighted number of respondents; the Ns among service providers give the number of respondents who received treatment in the sector.

c

Statistical test across providers: premature termination, χ2=82.0, df=4, p<.001; completed treatment, χ2=20.4, df=4,p<.001; still in treatment, χ2=19.3, df=4,p=.001

d

Statistical test across providers, with complementary-alternative medicine providers excluded from the analysis because of low dropout rate: premature termination, χ2=15.0, df=3, p<.002; completed treatment, χ2=9.5, df=3, p=.023; still in treatment, χ2=5.1, df=3, p=.163

The median number of visits for any sector represents the median across all sectors, not within any one sector, among patients treated in one or more sectors. The number who dropped out reported in this row represents those who dropped out from all sectors. Patients treated in multiple sectors over the 12-month period who were still in treatment in any of those sectors at the time of interview were classified as still in treatment, and those no longer in any treatment who reported completing treatment in at least one sector were classified as having completed treatment.
