All the values are expressed as mean ± S.E. Systolic pressure (SBP), diastolic pressure (DBP), heart rate (HR), mean arterial pressure (MAP), maximum rate of pressure development for relaxation (−dP/dtmax), maximum rate of pressure development for contraction (+dP/dtmax), left ventricular systolic pressure (LVSP) were demonstrated. Heart weight divided by body weight (HW/BW) is also calculated. MAP, EDP, LVSP, +dp/dtmax, -dp/dtmax were acquired using Millar catheter and recorded by PowerLab 8/30 instrument (ADInstruments, Australia). Heart rate, SBP and DBP were acquired by tail-cuff apparatus. Mean values of data from different treatment groups were compared using one-way ANOVA. After confirming the equal variances, unpaired Student’s t-test was used to compare difference between means of two groups using SigmaPlot software. #P < 0.05, ###P < 0.001 versus WKY; **P < 0.01, ***P < 0.001 versus SHR. n = 10 for each group.
