Total glutathione levels were measured in lysates of TRK43 cells stably transfected with human ALDH3A1 or empty vector following 1 hr treatment with 4-HNE (10 – 50 μM) and 0, 4 or 8 hrs recovery. Data are expressed as a percentage of the levels in vehicle-treated (vehicle) cells. Values are expressed as mean ± SD from triplicate experiments.
