(A, B) 24 h after MIN6 β-cells had been transiently transfected with plasmids as shown, they were maintained in culture for a further 48 h in the presence of 4 or 12 mM glucose and proliferation was determined by quantifying BrdU incorporation into newly synthesised DNA. Results are means + SEM, n = 3, **p<0.01 relative to the control samples at 4 mM or 12 mM glucose.
