Cell viability (resazurin-based TOX-8 assay) was measured after treatment of cells over a range of concentrations (0.1 µM–150 µM) for 72 hrs. Each data point represents the mean of four independent biological replicates ± SD. Cell viability is expressed as the percentage of the viable cells in the treated group relative to the untreated control group. Differences in cell viability are significant between humans and chimpanzees at 1 µM, 5 µM and 10 µM (p<0.05), and between humans and macaques at all concentrations >0.1 µM of MMC.
