The control panels represent fMRI data after optogenetic stimulation (with exactly the same stimulation parameters, see text) of nearby cortical sites that were not transduced. Only 1 small focus within the entire brain showed an effect at p < 0.001 (uncorrected), which is most likely a false positive result. (A).
