Studies that focused exclusively on a hepatectomy in patients with cirrhosis have been excluded.
When data were available for distinct groups, only those from the group with major or a right hepatectomy without portal triad clamping have been presented.
Techniques of vascular control: PTC, total portal triad clamping (continuous or intermittent). r-Inflow/l-Inflow, clamping/division of the right/left portal vein and hepatic artery. r-SHVE/l-SHVE, clamping/division of the right/left portal vein and hepatic artery + clamping/division of the ipsi-lateral hepatic vein (selective hepatic vascular exclusion/devascularization). THVE, Total hepatic vascular exclusion without preservation of the caval flow. MPV, Clamping of the main portal vein.
MH, major hepatectomy; RH, right hepatectomy; NS, not specified.
