Effect of removal of extracellular (Ca2+o) on histamine-stimulated rat goblet cell high molecular weight glycoconjugate secretion. Cultured rat goblet cells were incubated in the presence (black bar) and absence (white bar) of extracellular Ca2+ and then stimulated for 2 hours with no additions (B) or histamine (His) at 10−6 and 10−5 M. High molecular weight glycoconjugate secretion was measured by enzyme-linked lectin assay.
