Across the physiological range of pH values, CAP alone (squares) and cofilin alone (circles) each have individually limited actin severing activities, and each is pH-dependent. When added together (3 μm CAP and 2 μm cofilin), however, the two have a severing activity ∼7-fold higher than either can achieve independently over this pH range (triangles).
