(a) Coronal positron emission tomography (PET) scan shows right middle lobe nodule (top arrow) and unexpected hypermetabolic focus within the stomach (bottom arrow). (b) Transaxial PET/CT images show very intense and very focal stomach uptake. Oesophagogastroscopy and biopsy identified a gastro-oesophageal junction adenocarcinoma.
