Relationship between glyceollin induction and release of active oxygen species. Data show the effects of DPI (10 μm) on the production of glyceollin in soybean suspension-cultured cells in response to yeast elicitor (YE; 200 μg Glc equivalents mL⁻¹), Psg:avrA, or Psg:avrC in the presence or absence of PMSF (0.5 mm). Cells and culture media were harvested 24 h after elicitation, and glyceollin levels were analyzed by HPLC. In cells treated with yeast elicitor, all of the glyceollin accumulated intracellularly, whereas glyceollin was found in both cells and culture medium in cells treated with Psg:avrA.
