1H NMR resonances from a titration of sucrose in D2O containing 35 mM caffeine; H8 of caffeine (a), H1g (b) and H1f (c) of sucrose. Spectra are stacked according to increasing sucrose concentration (0, 1.3, 2.4, 3.7, 4.8 and 6.1 equivalents). Scalar spin-spin coupling between H1g and H2g results in the splitting into doublets.
