The figure shows the comparison of the dynamics of cAMP obtained by means of stochastic and deterministic simulations when deleting Pde1 (left) or Pde2 (right), with an initial amount of Cdc25 equal to 300 molecules. We note that, while in the deterministic case oscillations are damped or even not occurring, the stochastic case shows sustained oscillations of cAMP in both cases.
