miR-122 is released from hepatocytes by toxic copper. Hepatocytes (2 × 105) obtained from LEA rats were incubated for 24 h in cell culture medium containing copper. The factor of miR-122 expression in the medium of copper-treated hepatocytes is given relative to untreated cells (∆∆Ct). Mean and standard error is shown (n = 3). Asterisks indicate significance (p < 0.05). Hepatocytes of LEC rats showed similar levels of miR-122 (data not shown)
