MD-2 and adaptor molecule use in macrophages stimulated with killed S. marcescens. 1 × 10⁵ bone marrow macrophages from C57BL/6, MD-2^−/−, MyD88^−/−, TIRAP^−/−, or TRIF^−/− mice were incubated with LPS, or with 1 × 10⁷ or 1 × 10⁶ tobramycin-killed S. marcescens clinical isolate (056). After 6 hours, supernatants were removed and cytokine production was measured by ELISA. Data are mean ± SD and represent two repeat experiments.
