HIV-1-infected individuals express higher levels of TLR2 and TLR4 mRNAs than healthy donors. TLR2 and TLR4 mRNA levels were measured using real-time PCR, and normalized with the housekeeping gene β-actin. Relative units of TLR2 and TLR4 transcripts versus β-actin transcripts are shown as a median and range. Comparisons were by Kruskal–Wallis ANOVA tests and Dunn's post-tests.
