Three locations (White Island, Great Barrier Island and the Three Kings Islands) were sampled along six transects at each of 50, 100, 300, 500, 700, 900 and 1200 m depths. At White Island, samples at 1200 m were not taken due to logistical constrains. Bathymetry source: NIWA.
