Fermentations were carried out in duplicate on SM200 medium containing 240 g liter⁻¹ glucose and 200 mg liter⁻¹ YAN, consisting of a mixture of 18 amino acids and ammonium. For each strain, fitted data (dark lines) and experimental data are shown, as indicated in the symbol key in panel B. Mean values were calculated from 2 replicates.
