Early Pneumocystis-stimulated chemokine release and cell recruitment to the lung are dependent upon MyD88 signaling. C57BL/6 WT and MyD88−/− mice were intratracheally inoculated with 1 × 106 freshly isolated Pneumocystis cells. After 3 h, 8 h, and 24 h of Pneumocystis infection, BAL fluid from lungs were obtained to measure protein levels of CCL2 (A) and CXCL2 (B) by ELISA and for assessment of total cell recovery (C) (*, P < 0.05).
