SEOV infection does not induce antiviral or proinflammatory responses in AMs or LMVECs. AMs and LMVECs were inoculated with medium alone or medium containing SEOV. The positive controls included cells stimulated with pIC, LPS in combination with IFN-γ (AMs), or LPS (LMVECs) for 24 h prior to sample collection. Ifnβ, Ccl5, and Cxcl10 mRNA expression in AMs (A, B, and C) and LMVECs (E, F, and G) was quantified by real-time PCR and is expressed as relative gene expression (RGE) compared to mock-infected cells at 1 day (AMs) or 6 h (LMVECs). (D) TNF-α concentrations in AM supernatants were measured by ELISA. All data are expressed as means ± SEM of three independent experiments. The asterisks indicate significant differences relative to mock-infected cells at the corresponding time point; P < 0.05; 2-way ANOVAs.
